Equine osteopathy – a holistic healing method
Power. Strength. Elegance. liveliness.
“An attempt is often made to correct metabolic problems and their symptoms such as coughing, watery stools or joint problems through feed and feed additives. This is usually very expensive and does not lead to the desired success in the long term. Why is that ? If the horse's body is under stress due to a trauma such as an accident, castration or moving, this affects the horse's entire metabolism and statics. Due to a change in statics, the body has so much to do to compensate for this change that it lacks the energy to be able to metabolize the food it has consumed well. This is exactly where visionary equine osteopathy comes in. The regulation of the metabolism and thus a restoration of the physiological statics so that the joints and muscles can do their work again. My experience is that it is particularly important to feed good quality hay in order to give the entire metabolism the opportunity to regenerate sustainably. “Selina Dörling

The veterinary practice owner Heike Bussang was already involved with horses in her childhood and increasingly focused on equine medicine during her studies.
In 2007, the veterinary practice for horses was initially founded as an independent driving practice. With the construction of the Steinacker farm in Ellnrode (Gemünden) in 2009, the practice expanded to include the possibility of inpatient accommodation for horses.
Today the Steinacker farm offers horses with disabilities an active stable and a rehabilitation area with an inhalation trailer. Furthermore, several orthopedically specialized farriers enable the restoration of lameness on two outpatient days a week. To date, the veterinary practice team has been able to obtain certification in addition to the AG.ZE horse feces laboratory in Hesse
